Refund & cancellation policy
When a booking can be cancelled, how a refund is worked out, and how long it takes to reach you.

1. Cancelling a booking
You may cancel an aarti or darshan booking by writing to our contact e-mail (to be published) or calling our contact number (to be published) from the mobile number on the booking. Please quote your booking reference, which appears on your account page and in your confirmation e-mail.
2. What you get back
| When you cancel | Refund |
|---|---|
| More than 48 hours before the slot begins | 100% of the amount paid |
| Between 24 and 48 hours before the slot begins | 50% of the amount paid |
| Less than 24 hours before the slot, or after it has begun | No refund |
| You do not attend and did not cancel | No refund |
Where a fee is charged per person, cancelling part of a booking refunds only the places cancelled, on the same scale.
3. When we cancel or move a slot
If the committee cancels a slot, or moves it to a time you cannot attend, you may take an alternative slot or a full refund, whichever you prefer. This applies however close to the date the change happens, including cancellations caused by weather, public-order restrictions or directions from the police or local authority.
4. Membership
Membership is a voluntary contribution towards the running of the utsav and is non-refundable once the payment has succeeded and the member code has been issued. The only exceptions are a duplicate payment or a payment taken in error, which are refunded in full.
5. Failed and duplicate payments
- If a payment fails, no amount should be debited. Where a bank holds an amount against a failed attempt, it is normally released automatically within 5 to 7 working days.
- If an amount is debited but your booking still shows as “awaiting payment”, contact us with the transaction reference. We verify it directly with PayU. If the payment reached us, we confirm your booking; if it did not, the amount is returned by your bank.
- If you are charged twice for the same booking, the duplicate is refunded in full.
6. How a refund reaches you
Refunds are made only to the original payment method — the card, bank account or UPI handle used for the booking. We cannot send a refund to a different account, and we do not refund in cash at the pandal.
Once we approve a refund we raise it with PayU within 2 working days. The amount usually appears in your account within 5 to 7 working days, depending on your bank. We will tell you the refund reference when we raise it.
7. If something goes wrong
If a refund has not reached you within 10 working days of our confirmation, write to our contact e-mail (to be published) with the booking reference and the refund reference and we will follow it up with the payment gateway on your behalf.
